Blog_2020_05_07 Bubble Bath
5/7/20
When was the last time you took a bubble bath?
You've cracked the code, settled into a new rhythm and you are making it work!
With the craziness of a full house, you deliver the same results at work as you did before (or more) and you support colleagues and loved ones emotionally and help them be productive and engaged. Your house may even look orderly!
I hear from people who stepped up their work while their partner's income was affected, or parents waking up at 4 am to put in a couple of hours of work before their kids wake up. Others who have the "luxury" of being by themselves, cover for colleagues with kids at-home or drive around supplies to their team-mates.
What you're doing is not a small thing (and I know that you may be inclined to brush it over and look for the next item on your to-do list.)
Stop for second and acknowledge all the hard work you've put over the last two months and what you've accomplished.
There is a reason you are successful in your career. You care about what you do, you're responsible, and don't stop until you get the result you're satisfied with.
There is another side of it.
You can be irresponsible about taking care of yourself. Am I right?
Self-care is not your strongest muscle. And who has time for it now?!
Now more than ever, you need to do it.
It is not selfish. By taking care of yourself, you're taking care of everyone else (your job, family, friends).
❇️Push a pause button and fill that bath with the lushest bubbles you have (it's for you, not your toddler this time).
❇️Take a walk outside BY YOURSELF!
❇️Play a song from your Spotify daily list and dance like no one's watching you.
❇️A bonus point for letting those socks sit in the corner and the laundry remain unfolded for a couple of days (or whatever it takes. Sometimes my teen uses the drier as a closet anyways 😊).
I would love to know ho you nurture yourself. Drop me a line!
